The park was created in 1985, and its name honors the old vine cultivated in the valley where the reserve of 5 hectares is located. Mauritian hospitality, conservation of nature, and welfare of the animals are privileged in this magical setting, where guides will take you on an unforgettable visit of the reserve. Securely locked in enclosures, crocodiles are grouped according to age and specie from Africa and the neighbouring islands.
Set in a tropical rain forest, with exotic palm trees, fresh springs and local fauna and flora. La Vanille Crocodile Park also showcases a wide variety of lizards, snakes, tortoise, monkey, deer, rabbits, bats and wild pig, with descriptive notes on the fences. Different insects and colourful butterflies are displayed in a special room. A guided path in an open enclosure brings you closer to the giant tortoises in their natural habitat.
